Vase of Flowers #Haiku

Vase of Flowers #Haiku

I don’t know who the artist was who arranged these fresh flowers in a ceramic vase-of-sorts. But I do know I was drawn to photograph and draw it.

My favorite kind of art is that which is beautiful and unpretentious.

And this reminds me of Jesus whose name is the most beautiful one in the universe.

Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. Philippians 4:8 KJV

Thistles in Bloom #Haiku

I wish it were as easy to sidestep grief as it is to avoid the piercing pain of thorns. But God’s beauty is evident everywhere, if we search for it. His comfort is most palatable in the deep places. It’s also when it’s the most precious and appreciated.

Art is therapeutic. Nature is therapy. And flowers are one of our Creator’s love languages to us.

The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever.

My husband and I took our grandson to a local park one Saturday and noticed the morning glories were blooming. I didn’t have my big camera with me, so we returned the next morning to find fresh ones basking in the sunshine. Painting them was a labor of love. I suspect God loved creating flowers because He knew we would enjoy them so much.

I am making everything new! Revelation 21:5 NIV
